Per Stirpes
In per stirpes distribution, if a beneficiary in the first generation dies before the testator, that beneficiary’s share passes to their own descendants, in equal shares. For example, if a testator has three children, and one of those children dies before the testator, that child’s share would pass to their children, rather than the entire inheritance being divided equally among the two surviving children.
