Then you pass away, and whatever you put together 10 or 15 years ago is what it is,” Zak said. “And so for this particular case it was an eye-opening experience and created a sense of urgency to go get those documents updated, because clearly, there’s a set of instructions within the trust that no longer align with the clients’ wishes.”
