What gets you excited to keep coming to work everyday?
What gets me most excited to keep coming to work everyday is the people. The Vanilla team is very friendly and warm, and everyone is extremely willing to help. Being engaged in such a positive energy is contagious, and motivates me to work diligently as well.

I also enjoy the opportunity for continual growth. During my time at Vanilla, I have been able to work on a variety of projects, ranging in topics and skills; however, the one commonality in the assignments is that they all introduced invaluable lessons that have allowed me to develop as a designer. And, while we are all able to grow individually, simultaneously, Vanilla is growing as a whole, and realizing that transformative process has been very fulfilling.

What are you passionate about outside of work?
hese past few years, I’ve put an emphasis on spending more time outdoors. Immersing myself in nature has been healing — It puts me at ease and I am able to recharge and clear my mind. Along with that, I am a novice rock climber. I don’t think I’ll ever become an expert in climbing because I’m extremely afraid of heights, but I like that it is not only a physical exercise, but also a brain exercise because each route is essentially a puzzle. Other passions I have are eating waffles and hanging out with my dog, Minnie Chung (MC). Both activities make me very happy.

How does Vanilla help you to have a healthy work/life balance?
I believe that Vanilla does a great job putting our well-being first. Everyone is mindful of each others’ time and we are always encouraged to take breaks. Because we all work asynchronously, I have the freedom to create a schedule that works best for me and my needs, and because we all work remotely, I am able to work comfortably from home and have a kitchen filled with my favorite snacks just a few steps away.
